SKAGIT-WHATCOM-ISLAND TRAIL MAINTAINING ORGANIZATION
Welcome to SWITMO, a group of dedicated volunteers who maintain a portion of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail under the direction of the Pacific Northwest Trail Association (PNTA). Besides maintenance, we also re-route the trail whenever necessary, under the direction of the Pacific Northwest Trail Association (PNTA).
We work on trails twice each month, April through October, and encourage anyone interested in an outdoor experience with a great group of trail workers to join us. Trail parties usually last until about 4:00, which includes the tailgate festivity (consisting of delectable treats and beverages, as well as stimulating conversations) and returning to pickup area.
In case you might need a little bit more encouragement, take a look at our Photos page and you can easily see how much fun we're having. Wouldn't you like to have the whole world see you having fun and also doing good work? Still not convinced? That's OK, but you can still help with this important work. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which means that contributions are tax deductible, and we are continually in need of funds to purchase new tools or replace broken tools, etc. Click here to become a member or see if you can help in some other way.
